Biography
I grew up in Concord, California and went to University of California at Davis starting in September 2006. After graduating in June 2010 with a Biotechnology bachelors degree, I worked as a campaign manager for a successful re-election for Natomas School Board candidate Teri Burns. When the campaign ended, I joined Dr. Alan Bennett's laboratory back at UC Davis in the Plant Science Department where I studied a Mexican landrace of maize. This is where my passion for studying ways to improve plant's flourished. Starting in Fall 2013, I joined the Integrative Genetics and Genomics as a PhD student at UC Davis and have since joined Dr. Siobhan Brady's laboratory in the Plant Biology Department and Genome Center. I became a PhD Candidate in November 2015 and am researching fundamental root genetics in Arabidopsis and Tomato.
